Yellow mandala:
a rose attempts to echo
the still rising sun.
In Sanskrit art, the circular mandala symbolizes the universe. Here the slowly-blooming rose represents the rising sun in shape and color and freshness. It is the soon-to-be-wholeness of oneself (microcosm) and the soon-to-be-wholeness of the universe (macrocosm). Yellow symbolically refers to the sun, and to power and light, goodness and truth. It is the color of the third chakra in kundalini yoga located appropriately at the solar plexus.

Still more Eliade. Read his phrase “Moon reconciles man to death and the sun remains unchangeable and the same—and becomes the intelligence of the world” and didn’t understand it. Was powerful for me to note it but until ‘ayearincirlces’ paired it to the the third Chakra, the solar plexus, which is the center of thinking –the intellect–did I see the connection.
